City Council Elections
At the 2024 General Election on November 5, 2024, the positions of Mayor and three Councilor positions appeared on the ballot.  On December 16, 2024, the Keizer City Council accepted the Canvass of Elections Votes from the November 5, 2024, General Election for the Keizer City Council Positions (Mayor and City Council Positions 1, 2, 3).  As outlined in the City Charter, the oath of office will be administered to the newly elected City at the first regular meeting in January (January 6, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.).

  • All positions are non-partisan.
  • Council positions are elected at-large.
  • All positions are volunteer (non-paid).
  • All terms will begin on January 6, 2025. 
     

Qualifications and Residency Requirements

To qualify as a candidate for Mayor or City Councilor, the candidate must be:  

A qualified elector under the laws and constitution of the State of Oregon and a registered voter of the City of Keizer; and  

A resident of the City of Keizer who has resided continuously in the City during the 12 months immediately preceding the election that the Candidate is filing for. 

The Keizer City Charter requires a petition to be submitted and it must contain a minimum of 120 qualified signatures (Keizer registered voters).  ***Please see the note above regarding signature collection.
