Charles Mcmichael (Mike) Whittam was born on May 11, 1939. He spent his early years in California where he graduated from San Clemente High School. In the early sixties he met Kathleen Lollar in college in Arizona and they married in '64. They moved to Oregon where he began to work for the State Parks Commission. He was diagnosed with cancer in 1987, and went into surgery on his wife's birthday. He died later that month on October, 27th. On January 15, 1990, Parcel “B” of the Keizer Little League Park was designated as ‘Mike Whittam Park’ in recognition of the many ways he served the Keizer community including serving as Chair of the Parks Advisory Board for several years. He is buried at Claggett Cemetery, Keizer, Marion County, Oregon
