The Mayor and Council Positions #1, #2, and #3 will appear on the November 5, 2024 General Election ballot.  Terms of office for Mayor Cathy Clark, Councilor Laura Reid, Councilor Shaney Starr, and Councilor Kyle Juran will expire in January 2025.

The Mayor and Councilor positions are volunteer/ non-paid and the terms will begin on January 6, 2025. The Mayor Position is a two-year term and the Council Positions are four-year terms. All positions are non-partisan and are elected at large. 

 A candidate must be a qualified elector under the laws and constitution of the State of Oregon, a registered voter, and a resident of the City of Keizer who has resided continuously in the City during the 12 months immediately preceding the election.

 The filing period for candidates begins on June 5, 2024.  To start the process, a candidate must file forms SEL 101 and SEL 121 (before gathering any signatures) with the City Recorder/ City Elections Officer.  Candidate filing forms and additional details are on the City’s website at:  https://www.keizer.org//City-Council-Elections. 

 All filing requirements must be completed by 5:00 p.m. on August 27, 2024. The Keizer City Charter requires that a candidate receives 120 qualified signatures (Keizer registered voters).  Candidates are highly encouraged to submit signature sheets by August 20, 2024, to provide sufficient time for signature verification.
