Congratulations to Koda, Keizer Police Department Comfort K9, and her handler, Lt. Chris Nelson! 

Koda was rescued by the NW Boxer Rescue and adopted by the Keizer Police Department as a Comfort K9. Koda and her handler, Lt. Chris Nelson, completed six months of training through Joys of Living Assistance Dogs (JLAD). The training included basic obedience, house manners, and how to behave in public. She also received some technical training for comforting individuals experiencing trauma. Koda graduated on October 19, 2024, as a certified JLAD Facility Dog, accredited through Assistance Dogs International (ADI). Photos of Koda bringing joy to graduation attendees are listed below.
