The City of Keizer is inviting community members to provide public comment on the proposed renewal of the Cable Television Franchise Agreement with Comcast of Oregon I, Inc. The proposed renewal term is for an additional five (5) years beginning March 1, 2027.

On February 9, 2022, the City entered into the Cable Television Franchise Agreement with Comcast of Oregon I, Inc. with an effective date of March 1, 2022.   Under Section 16.1(B) of the Franchise Agreement, the parties agree that at any time during the term of the agreement, while affording the public adequate notice and opportunity for comment, the parties may agree to undertake and finalize negotiations regarding renewal of the agreement.  

The City Council will take comment at the Monday, March 3, 2025 meeting prior to determining if a five year renewal is appropriate.  If you wish to review the current agreement, please contact Melissa Bisset at bissetm@keizeror.gov or 503-856-3412 and request a copy.

Public Participation: The City Council will review this renewal on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., and the community is encouraged to provide input. Written comments can be submitted to the City Council via email at bissetm@keizeror.gov or hand delivered at City Hall, 930 Chemawa Road NE or may be provided during the public comment period at the next regular council meeting on March 3, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. The deadline for written public comment is 5:00 p.m. March 3, 2025.
